Dental FAQs

What kind of cosmetic dentistry do you provide?

At Riseley Street Dental, we believe that cosmetic dentistry starts with thorough planning. Our cosmetic procedures such as Invisalign straightening, Philips Zoom in-chair and home whitening, composite resin bonding and porcelain or ceramic veneers are all driven by Digital Smile Design with an emphasis on achieving overall aesthetic harmony of the teeth, the smile and the face as a whole.

Can dental implants be noticed by people?

Every case is different, but one of our main goals with any treatment related to the replacement of a tooth or multiple teeth is to achieve a situation where the smile looks and functions like a set of natural teeth.

What do the dental implants cost in Booragoon?

The cost of implants varies depending on the case, but can be between $5000-$10000 per tooth. We pride ourselves on keeping our costs towards the lower end of that spectrum without compromising whatsoever on materials, planning, or procedural expertise.

How Do I Make My Teeth Whiter?

The most common method we see is the application of the chair side ZOOM tooth whitening protocol. This procedure should be performed by a dentist and it is quickest and most predictable way to change the shade of your teeth. For the best results in teeth whitening, book an appointment with us by giving us a call on (08) 9316 2304 or email us at reception@riseleystreetdental.com.au

How can I make an appointment?

The quickest way to secure an appointment with us is through our online booking system, eAppointments. If you’d rather chat with us directly, or if you can’t find what you’re looking for online, please feel free to call us on 9316 2304. Alternatively, you can send us an email at reception@riseleystreetdental.com.au or fill in our online request form located on the Contact page.

Where is the clinic located?

We are on number 178 Riseley Street, in Booragoon. This is the side of Riseley Street opposite Garden City Shopping Centre, accessible as you head south towards Leach Highway.

Do I need to be referred by a doctor?

We are more than happy to see you regardless of whether you were referred by a doctor or fellow dental practitioner. We accept walk-ins, emergency call-ups, phone bookings, and online bookings, and are currently accepting new patients.

Does getting a filling cause pain?

Getting a filling normally doesn’t cause pain unless the cavity is close to the gum line or the nerve. In most cases, local anaesthesia will ensure that the place being worked on remains completely numb so that you can be worry-free throughout the procedure.

Is pain in the teeth around recently removed wisdom teeth considered normal?

Yes, swelling, pain and discomfort often occur as a result of a wisdom tooth removal which is a normal part of the healing process. The healing period could last for up to 7 days. However, if the symptoms take longer than that, you should speak to your dentist or dental surgeon.

What is an unpleasant breath smell and how can it be cured?

An unpleasant breath smell is produced by bacteria that grow in the mouth. The bacteria can accumulate if you don’t brush and floss on a regular basis. The sulphur compounds produced by the bacteria are commonly the culprit of malodours.
Bad breath can be alleviated by a thorough oral hygiene regime including brushing, flossing, tongue cleaning and mouthwash, but sometimes requires further investigation by a dental professional.
