A PICTURE PERFECT SMILE WITH
Porcelain Dental Veneers
Veneers are an ideal cosmetic solution for everyone who desires a beautiful smile with minimal invasions into their teeth.
Procedure: Veneers are made up of a thin porcelain shell that covers the front of the tooth, typically used to improve the colour, shape and/or size of your teeth. With the correct maintenance, each veneer can last 15 years – however, there are many factors that feed into this number. We strongly believe that in the correct environment, with a thoughtful design and technical expertise on the dentist’s part, and a patient who cares meticulously for their teeth, these types of restorations can far exceed our “lifespan” expectations. Once your dentist has examined your teeth and has determined veneers to be the appropriate treatment for you, the procedure will be broken up into two trips. The first session involves removing enough enamel from each tooth to create space for the veneer. A mould is then taken and sent off to the lab for fabrication of the veneer. At this point temporary veneers are placed over the teeth. During the second visit, the dentist will prepare each tooth with a bonding cement, for the permanent veneer to adhere to. The cement is set by a blue wavelength light beam and any excess cement is removed by the dentist. Sometimes we recommend a visit to the dentist 1-2 weeks after the 2nd appointment to confirm that everything has settled into place perfectly.
Recovery: Veneers require little to no recovery, however patients may feel slight sensitivity to cold/hot foods within the first day or so after the procedure.
